SpecEtch is a spray-applied surface retarder that exposes aggregate in freshly placed horizontal concrete for decorative finishes
SpecEtch preserves the natural color of aggregate and concrete, applied at approximately 150 sq ft per gallon and cured under plastic sheeting before exposure washing.
Key Features & Benefits
Does not alter the natural color of aggregate or concrete
Ideal for creating decorative exposed-aggregate finishes
Application Instructions
Float, screed, or trowel the surface level without overworking, to avoid driving aggregate too deep
Apply evenly at approximately 150 sq ft per gallon with a garden-type sprayer as soon as surface water has disappeared, avoiding puddles
Cover the treated area with (preferably black) plastic sheeting, securing the edges
Cure for 12-24 hours depending on temperature and conditions
Once the desired etch depth is reached, remove the plastic and flush with a garden hose and stiff broom
